Implementation and evaluation of Music Therapeutic Caregiving during morning care session in dementia care.

The research project is further exploring and investigating the influence of caregiver singing on persons with dementia and their caregivers.

The project will go on until 2010.

Cultural expressions, such as singing, in performing ”music therapeutic caregiving” in complex dementia care situations.

One part of the project will investigate persons with dementia and feeding. This part of the project will continue until 2012

Another part of the project will investigate persons with dementia and walking. More information will be published later on.

There is an urgent need to do inter-
vention research in dementia care with non pharmacological or complementary methods. Hopefully this will develop evidence based practice and improve wellbeing for persons with dementia and their caregivers.
These projects may contribute to improve dementia care.
